Vigan Longganisa + Fried Eggplant

Another perfect, comfort food for brunch--Vigan longganisa and daing na bangus with fried rice and fried eggplant in soy sauce---ahh this is the SHIT.

Chicken Alfredo

Chicken Alfredo at home--perfect lunch

Sumo Sam

Sumo Sam for merienda-- the prices were pretty steep but hey it was okay for me, but still, I'd choose traditional Kimpura over this.

Breakfast Okonomyaki - pancake filled with spam bits and chives drizzled with mayo and some sort of teriyaki sauce--super dense and heavy, do not underestimate this.

I'm a sucker for anything soba-- Tempura Soba, the broth is super light and refreshing, the soba just glides in your mouth, perfect!

Cutest Candy

THIS. IS. KILLER. I just died when I saw this. Well, who couldn't resist candy? :p

I used to collect erasers when I was in grade school, my tin pencil case (you know, with the removable layer) would consist of a couple of pens and a ruler or a pencil, and the second layer would be all erasers. I would shell out P80-P150 for one Sanrio eraser at Gift Gate, this was when all the stuff from Gift Gate were all from Japan. I miss it. And then this mini eraser version comes along, 15 years too late, well, I just had to buy them for my kid, and of course, she likes them as well. :)

hmm I really don't groom my eyebrows cos they're already thin and if I did, I'd look like an asian chola but aren't these heart tweezers from Essensuelle soo adorable?

Ling Nam

We were meaning to go to Ersao but it rained like hell and we all slept in so we ordered from Ling Nam just around the corner. The beef+wanton noodles were not so great, I like the texture but the broth was oily and bland. We also ordered some beef hofan noodles which is awesome, although quite perplexing cos of the smokiness of the noodles, and the "pipa" tofu--it's only minced shrimp and tofu balls with some weird sauce which I have mistaken for some eggdrop soup. Chinese food is always comforting.

Cyma

Cyma for dinner, yes, greek food.

First off was the Saganaki--flaming cheese with EVOO and basil, this was okay. You have to eat it fast or else the cheese will stick to the pan or worse, the roof of your mouth.

This salad was great--capers, olives, feta, that Greek sludge of a dressing, bow-tie pasta, the greens provide that fresh crunch. I ate a lot of this.

I ordered this chicken souvlaki--greek style shish-kabobs. It was okay, the white sauce was a bit bland for me. Looks great but I'd prefer the stuff from Ababu.

Kimpura

I was so tired yesterday, so for dinner I rewarded my self with cold soba from Kimpura. :3

My hubby got this beef ramen which is so good.

Pino + Kiss the Cook

This month was a bit lazy and slow for me so, I ate. I really want a proper desk job, this freelancing work is too erratic for me, I want a proper schedule.

Pino Resto Bar
, one of my favorites mainly for their flavored beer (it's just San Mig light with strawberry/passion fruit/watermelon syrup), the food is modern Filipino but I like the vegetarian dishes best.

Tofu stack with mushroom rice. What can I say, I love the rice, the tofu is just, you know, tofu. If I go up a flight of stairs, I'm sure I'll get hungry again after eating this.

Jobi got the Fried Tofu and Eggplant in coconut milk rice topping, it's really yummy.

Shrimp and Pork Kebabs with chili sauce. The chili sauce is quite mild, but I love the charred flavor to this.

Another favorite of mine, you know, when you want something pseudo fancy for brunch or early dinner before you go drinking, Kiss the Cook also has a mix of modern Filipino dishes with Asian and Italian fare.

Mini spanakopitas with spinach and feta in roasted garlic aioli - it's okay I guess, too much spinach, I wanted it to have more cheese.

Jobi got this blue marlin deli sandwich with plantain chips, I got a Spanish panini with Salchichon and hot mustard (not shown), quite good but the bread was burnt and some of my panini got scraped off, and the filling was showing. It looked pretty dismal. But nonetheless, quite good.

The Trufette - Dark chocolate gelato nugget topped with cherries and Bailey’s cream, nice texture, really yummy, but the liquor got to me so I let Jobi finish it, :)

Went to the beach over the weekend, Puerto Galera is awesome, we stayed away from White Beach and Sabang where the party crowd's at. Muelle is a beautiful cove-- lots of dive sites and a yacht club as well. There's an unusual sandbar that connects to Boquete island and its secluded beaches. This is what I love about my country, beaches are just a few hours away from Manila, and not just any beach, but the most beautiful ones. :) Man, I love Pilipinas!

The sandbar is pretty wide see?

Laduree Macarons

Dreams do come true! A box of Laduree macarons appeared magically on my lap along with a baby unicorn! also, my cousins went to Paris (now they're home, thank God, just in time when Mount Illjkfhoprltyuo spewed)and also got me the same Laduree macarons!

L-R: Vanilla, Violet Blackcurrant, Caramel with Salted Butter (hands down my fave), Rasberry (it could be also Red Fruit), Coconut and Lemon ♥ ♥ ♥

Jelly

I love any kind of JELLY--candy, cakes etc. you name it, I'm a sucker for this translucent, magical dessert!! How I wish there's a Yorimichi here. :O

Our local version is called "Cathedral Windows". My lola makes it all the time with chunks of fruit.

Water Candy

WATER CANDIES!! from Ameya Eitaro Japan, these come in rose, grapefruit, rasberry and strawberry flavors. Yes, you use it as a lip gloss and then you can eat it!

Ilocos Empanada

Last weekend, my family and I went to the beach which is 12 hours away from Manila by car! (It was worth it.) It's located at Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte at the tip of our island. If you've heard of Boracay in Aklan, that's NOTHING compared to this amazing beach. :p

This is what you call an Ilocos empanada. It's kinda like a calzone, with fried egg, vegetables and Vigan Longganisa(native sausage with LOTS of garlic) all mixed in together, with sukang Ilocos(native vinegar that tastes super strong and pungent) REALLY YUMMY.

Treffpunkt

Gone to Treffpunkt with the hubby for schublig and bratwurst, it's bangers and mash for dinner!! :)

Muscovado Cupcakes

Just made some Toblerone and muscovado(native brown sugar) cupcakes. :D
